RIPETTA STREET
Image 1: View of Ripetta Street looking towards the Piazza del Popolo
Ripetta street, that starts on the right of the church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, is one of the roads that runs from Piazza del Popolo; it has been developed on an old trail and was restored in 1517-19 by Pope Leo X (Leone X). The street was known as Via Leonina until '700 and took its current name because of the nearness of the Tiber River bank (ripa del Tevere).
Among all the buildings that face onto the street it is worth to mention: the ex Lancisiana's room at number 46 and the church of S. Maria Portae Paradisi, located at the corner with Canova Street (Via Canova).

Location: Rione Campo Marzio (Campus Martius district)
